Fuel Tank Lock Rings

Working on the 95 truck down in my signature. It's got dual tanks; I am having to drop them to replace the 'showerhead' pickups. Looking to get the lock rings before I start work, but I am seeing multiple options listed on Rock Auto and other parts vendors' sites which seem to be mutually exclusive.

I am seeing listings for lock rings of 3 5/8" and 3 7/8" diameter, plus this 'universal' Dorman/Help kit with various sizes. Which lock ring size or kit should I get for my truck? Thanks.

Bump - anyone?

I have never had to replace a steel lock ring. I use a brass drift and tap them around to get them off. A little pb blaster helps. Put them back on the same way. I just grease the o-ring to hold it in the groove. Plastic rings I use a big pair of channel locks.

I've only replaced with a new pump & tank on a gas truck, and each time the tank included a new lock ring. Only advice I have is buy them both and just return whichever doesn't work--not very useful advice though. Hopefully someone happens to know.

Just do what I do... buy ALL the parts that could possibly fit, and return the ones you don't use.

As for actually needing a lock ring... I ain't ever had to replace one yet either. They usually come right off with some gentle tapping and maybe a choice word or two.
