is it worth fixing up?

Sup guys, im new to the forums. I recently got a deal on a 95 7.3, it's rusted to hell, but mechanicly sound. I got a guy that sells passanger and driver fenders and door sets for 300 (used of course but absolutely no rust). After I replace the rusty panels I was going to paint, add a cold air intake and a single turbo back stack. I got it for 1800, anyone think it's worth the money and effort to do this?

Depending on how much it retails it could be worth it to fix it up and sell it again to make a little profit. However if your area doesn't pay much then it is only worth fixing it up to keep it. These are reliable trucks so I would say it would be worth it to fix it as a keeper.

I GUARANTEE if the fenders and doors are rusty, the radiator support is SHOT. They are OBSOLETE and GOOD used ones are a challenge to find in the rust belt. When you do find them, expect to pay 600+

is it 4wd? If not the 2wds are not worth the effort.

You did not mention the bed, I am SURE that is rotten too

Miles? options? trans?

Sounds like he paid way to much for it in the condition. A 7.3 isn't worth $1800 in my opinion.

The bed isn't completely shot, yes it's a single cab 4x4 auto trans with 209k it was fleet maintained some guys construction business went under.

Sounds like you have a pretty Involved project for a $3500 truck

Living up north in the heart of the "salt-lands", I understand the rust issues. I know personally that where I live, 1800 would be a slammin deal on a rusted out 7.3 because thats all we have to work with. Actually, there's a 96 7.3 in my local junkyard for 1200 bucks running and driving.. BUT... it needs a bed because it's rotted through and the bed got slammed in the side, a radiator support, and 'could' use fenders.

Depends how much you want it, really.
