97 f 350 skyjacker lift
hi everyone, new to the forums! im a proud owner of a 1997 f350 7.3 thats sitting on an add-a-leaf type lift with 35's under it. ive started a bit of a build with a diamond eye 4'' turbo back straight pipe, ts performance 6 pos chip, and a k&n cold air. the tires i have are cracked so i will be purchasing some 37"x13.5 nitto mud grapplers soon to replace them, they wont fit with my current lift settup, that brings me to skyjackers 5-6 inch lift. has anyone had any experience ordering these? on their website their is a huge list of additional "related/required parts" has anyone ordered one and knows what you do and dont need to lift this truck? any help is appreciated thanks.

Do a sky risk with SD springs.it should ride better and have plenty of lift for those Dan did 37s with a standard rsk with only minor bumper trimming

Really just looking to go with the skyjacker, due to what I've heard from others and how much they stand behind their product.

OK.can't help then.most of us do the risk route so the ride is better.good luck

ok so ive been looking into sky's rsk kits and have kindof changed my mind, it does look like a better option, im looking at this
www.sky-manufacturing.com - 9297F2503505inch4x4FrontShackleReversal for the front and, www.sky-manufacturing.com - 789745quotLiftFord4x4RearShackleFlipKit for the rear, it gives me the option for either two bilstein 5'' shocks or a "full" set, does this mean for the rear aswell? i just really dont want to order a kit, install it and realize i need more parts, |

I have just finished doing my 3rd and even took a 6" lift off the past truck to convert to an RSK. I will recommend a PMF RSK(Precision Metal Fab) His stuff is built for your application and fits like a glove. Requires no welding or cutting to existing frame vs the RSK which does. Simple as all hell to install. It also did not require drilling of additional holes. I would highly recommend his units! Bitchn' lift blocks as well. Get a set of X code fronts and 37's will fit fine, otherwise s,u,v codes front SD springs will require bumper trimming. |
Hey guys sorry to kinda hijack. But i had a post like this last week with only couple comments not in support of the rsk. You say you took a 6 inch lift off and went to an rsk? Thats what i was trying to find out, was it worth it? Was the ride a big difference? I have the skyjacker 6 inch now. 1997 f350 7.3 cc lb thx

The other CCLB truck I did had a 5.5 inch rough country lift on it and rode like garbage, worse than my 250 did with the stock springs after a TTB conversion to a solid axle. When we were done with a set of X codes we were about .25" lower up front from the 5.5" kit, but it rode like a dream compared to the old kit. Good money spent. I have no idea how the skyjacker kit rides, but the RC kit rode like a brick, and the leafs were super stiff. If you want to do the RSK, leave your lift on the rear and just do the front. I wish I had the coin or time to do them on both of my trucks! |
What year do you use for the x code spring? I have a 97 OBS and Im getting the PMF front set up.
