A question on "what's underneath the EGR"

Hello folks. Mine is a 2007 Ford F150 4.6L V8 and for certain, my engine has the one piece EGR System Module.

Additional piece of information: I have a subscription to Alldatadiy.com for this truck.

What I am wondering is this: once I remove the EGR system module, I know that it bolts onto what alldatadiy info calls the "Throttle Body Adapter". I am taking from that that the egr port that typically needs cleaning out is right under the EGR System Module.

I suspect that I will have to remove that from the engine to do an adequate job of cleaning but, when I look up "Throttle Body" and find the removal... alldatadiy only shows removing the front part of the throttle body from the part that the EGR valve bolts to. It does not show removing that part.

When I go look at intake manifold removal, it shows pictures of the intake manifold with the whole piece already gone and the port that it bolts down to has nothing on it.

My question, DOES the piece that the EGR system module bolts on to.... come off the top of the intake manifold? Logic tells me it does but I can not find anything in alldata that deals with that one little piece and as I said, I am imagining that I will have to take that piece off to clean it thoroughly and safely.

Can anybody give me confirmation of what I will need to do once I get the EGR module off ?

I would sure appreciate it...
Bob
