need help
Hey guys i just did a spark plug and oil change on my 96 f150. It has a 4.9 straight six in it. The truck ran fine before i did the spark plug and oil changes, and now it wont start. All plugs are gapped to .044 and no fuses are blown. All other electronics work and it turns over fine. I also checked the distributor and wires. All is good. If anyone can help that would be great.
Thanks, nick |

Thanks, nick If it is sparking, then you have 1 of 3 things needed for a running engine. Fuel, fire, and air. Make sure there is gas in the thing. Thats happened to me before. Check to make sure the filter/air duct arent obstructed by anything. Also check all connections on the fuel system. Mightve pulled something loose trying to get to the plugs. Just some stuff off my head. Someone else will be along to give further help, Im sure. |
Pull one spark plug and lay it on the engine block. Have someone crank it, see if it is sparking. |

Another thing I've found that works really well for this is jumper cables. Clip one end to the frame and the other around the plug. Makes for a really solid connection, and easier to look at the plug.

LOL, the shock from a spark plug wire isn't something you forget. It won't hurt you, but it will definitely give you the heebie jeebies for a few minutes after.

Ignition shock and electric fence shock are something to behold}>
