1948 f1 Hood Repair?

Hello everybody looking for advice!! My hood is in great shape except for a ridge line running across the rear brace! Question is how would you attack this fix? Fill in both side with filler.(cracking) or pound down the ridge and brace then fill? I'm a little of a novice on body work so any suggestions would be appreciated!!!

Build to date! For my 16 year old daughter!
1948 F1
1970 i6 250-c4
No limits power steering
Nostalgic ac/heat
Power disk brakes
Seat Heaters (don't ask)

Trying to get to first coat of primer by weeks end!!

Thanks Steve

Got a picture of the hood damage? Kind of hard to visualize.

The 250-6 is an interesting choice, I can only recall one other build with it. Light and about the same power as a flathead.
