92 Ranger 4.0

Ok guess I have to do it this way, I have a 92 Ranger 4.0, the trans was going up in it do to the modulator sucking fliud out of the trans an into the engine. One night on my way home the engine overheated an blew the side tank off the radiator an it shutdown. I had it towed home an it hasnt run since. Do to the over abundance of oil in the crankcase the plugs were fowled so I replaced them, I'm getting spark an getting gas but it won't fire up even with starting fluid. When it cranks it doesn't seem like it has compression when it cranks but I checked 3 of the cylinders when replacing the plugs. Anybody have any ideas? Please keep in mind tools are very limited an a compression gage is not available. Thanks in advance for help gang.

Dave
