Yes, try a different browser such as Firefox or Chrome; IE has a Compatibility Setting that might allow it to work or might not, try it and see if it helps. There are known issues with IE11 and the "new" photo uploader tool (mountain/sun icon) and the IB guys are working on it but I have no timeframe for a fix.
Thank you for the detailed explanation. ;) |

New problems with the uploading multiple pictures
This is for Fomoko1 and IB_Jose. Here is what is happening:
https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...ace9b6788d.jpg You add the first picture https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...34789b2e14.jpg But when you go to add multiple pictures by clicking on "Upload from a device". . . https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...2ea07220cd.jpg Nothing happens. This worked fine last week but doesn't now. May be related to new changes to tagging? . . . or some other recent change. |
That's a browser problem, it's not correctly opening up the window that lets you navigate your filesystem to choose additional images (but seems to be working fine for me using Firefox on Linux).
Have you updated your Safari browser recently (maybe you should)? Can you try a different browser? |

No, I'm not guessing, I've been working in the WWW server & site development world since 1996. And, I haven't run across anybody else on FTE having this problem.
Browsing a local device is supposed to open up a window on the user's device through which they can navigate to locate a stored media file; if your browser isn't opening up a window, something has apparently gone wonky there (it works for me but I don't have Safari on a Mac to try and replicate your problem). I see a picture of your engine, apparently posted with Chrome? The standard course of action is to clear your cache & cookies and then try again, see if that takes care of it? Let us know. |

Mac released a new update, "macOS Sierra", today. I installed it. I'll check again tomorrow and let you know. This sent from my iPad. |
OK. I have cleared the new macOS Sierra and cleared the browser cache, but the "Upload from this Device" still does not work.

no, everything is hosted on our servers--but they're separate servers not hosted on our forum machines.
as for site updates, we haven't touched FTE for a long time. |
This doesn't work in Google Chrome either and I do not use the Ghostery extension with Google Chrome. So the problem is somewhere else.
It works fine on my iPad2 (IOS). The two green buttons show up to the right when I select "Upload from Device" in the window on iPad but they do not show up in OS X. This worked just fine last week with OS X. https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...0672e68ea9.jpg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...f70f8ce11f.jpg If you delete the photo using the trash can at bottom right the "Upload from Device" menu selection still does not work in Safari or Google Chrome What version of OS X is your art director using? (click on the apple at the upper left corner) |
I believe she is running Sierra, but I'll double check. For the record, literally nothing has been touched on FTE's back end for almost a year, and definitely nothing in the past week.
I've checked our project management's log for any work done on the photo uploader, and it was pushed this Monday, for issues coming from its interaction with a different version of an editor that's not currently installed on FTE--and also doesn't coincide with your timeline of issues. |
Are you using Java to display the buttons to the right of the menu?
|
Still no buttons.
