2003 6.0 no start hot. Help!
Hello. I have been struggling to find the leak in my hpop system. Can someone tell me the best way to pressurize the 2003 system with air to look for leaks. The ICP sensor is not easy to get to.
Truck symptoms: Runs great cold (with scan tool no cylinder imbalance) ICP 1.0 volts while idling IPR @ 29-30% When it gets hot it starts to mis. (imbalance always on #1 cylinder) (I changed out cylinder #1 injector for #3 and the miss followed the injector) If I try to restart my ICP voltage is .6-.7 volts. My IPR does not attempt to close (raise the duty cycle) and it will not start hot. Recent repairs (1,3,5,7) injectors removed and new seal kits installed including the rail to injector o-ring. (had a sticky spool valve on cylinder 3. checked all injectors and put new seals on, injectors were marked as to cylinder so they didn't get mixed. Turbo pulled and cleaned because of sticky vanes. Is it possible for bad injector to cause the HPOS to lose pressure? Is it likely I have HPO leak and a bad injector? (NEW HPOP, ICP, IPR last year with apprx 10000miles on them, new oil and ford filter) Thanks in advance for your help! |

The hpop was a reman that came from Texas. sorry I don't remember the name.
The icp and ipr are ford. I will check the readings at 2500. I had a stuck spool valve originally on cylinder 3. It was the imbalance that had me pull the oil rail and injectors. It would seem that I have a bad injector because of the imbalance following the injector. But could that cause a high pressure oil system problem with the hot start? I will get a rubber tipped air gun and pressurize the oil rail on both sides with and without the ipr being closed. First when it starts up tomorrow I will check icp and ipr at 2500. While it warms up. To see the readings I am using forscan which is pretty good but it does not let me see actual cylinder contribution. |
