IPR Issues?

Hey everyone, it's been awhile.
I would like some input on my problem please. I got my truck running again, helicoil fix. On the way to town it took a ****, running rough, sputtering. Towed it to shop. they told me it was a IPR problem. So I got one from Bob, diesel Orings.com. I put it in, because he wanted to charge me 1.5 hours @ 105 per. It worked great. Also quieted down my motor knocking. (first thing I thought of was Tugly..he was right) I was so happy. Two days later did the same thing. Called Bob from Diesel Orings and he told me it was my ICP. So I buy one. Did not work. Bought another IPR thinking that I got a bad IPR the first time. It worked great for a few miles until it warmed up. Running like **** again. I don't understand. I'm about ready to pull my hair out. If it wasn't for bad luck, I would not have any luck at all. :(

I don't remember Jerry, do you have access to AutoEnginuity or have an Android based phone that you could download Torque Pro app? You have thrown a lot of money and parts at a problem that a scan tool would help us help you so much better than guessing. If you have a laptop, you should get AE with the Ford Enhanced bundle, then we can log some data and really figure this thing out.

I had a '95 acting similar only it wouldn't start, changed ipr with known good one, truck started, warmed up and died and wouldn't start again. took old ipr apart cleaned and re sealed re installed truck started warmed up died and wouldn't re start! took pcm out of my spare '97 truck ran like new.

First: While it was running, did you run all the air out of the oil (about 50 miles)?

Second: This is starting to smell like injector O-rings or sticks. We really need to know your ICP and IPR readings to abbreviate the troubleshooting process.

Third: That last link in my signature may help.

Fourth: If a scan gauge is out of the question - the Cody test might yield a clue. Just remember to put a rag around the air nozzle.
