Explorer discs on a 9 inch?

I was looking at my 10 x2 rear drum set last night, I got to thinking it might not be too difficult to adapt the backing plate/caliper mounts from an Explorer 8.8 discs to the flanges on my 9 inch.

Has anyone here done this?
