Is this thread really three years old?!?! No wonder that popcorn's giving me heartburn!:-X04
I think for American-built performance cars: Mustang, Camaro, Corvette, Focus ST & RS, etc; there will probably always be room in the lineup for a manual. At this time, most buyers of those cars still prefer a manual. For example the Ford Focus ST & RS come solely WITH manuals for that reason. I believe that a majority of the Mustang GT's sold now are sold with a manual. The lower end Mustang's, the V6 and Ecobust, are probably mostly automatics; maybe a 50/50 split of auto's and manuals. The European sports cars are pretty much in a class by themselves as far as the performance-car market is concerned.

manual Transmissions

The only two Ford Trucks that have manual transmissions are the F650 and F750. I have read that there is a company that offers a kit to convert your automatic that is in a F150 to a 5 speed manual transmission.

Nope. Only the 6R140 automatic transmission is in the F650 and F750 trucks. Previous model years had it, but new ones do not.
