Ecoboost or 6.2L for towing

We bought a new fifth wheel camper, which is a little bigger than our old one. I have a 2012 Ecoboost Crew max trailer tow that pulled our old fifth wheel really well. With the new trailer i'm still under the max tow rating of the truck but about 500lbs or so over the GVWR on the truck.

I have been thinking of going with a superduty with the 6.2l. I know it will be more stable infront of the new camper but will it pull as good as the ecoboost? The other down side of the 6.2l I think will be the empty fuel mileage. What are you guys with a 6.2l 4X4 crew getting for mileage empty?

I average 12 mpg U.S. with 4:30 gears

500 over your GVWR means you are probably over your axle rating and no doubt your tires. With the "precious" cargo you are probably carrying in your truck, I would never exceed my tire rating.
