'89 F150 resto-mod build

Figured I'd start a small build on here. I picked up a 1989 F150 with a 5.0, M5OD-R2 5 speed, 4x4 last year for $825. It's a good little truck, but needed some rust work. I've been collecting parts for the last couple months and it's time I started a thread. So far I have:

New rust free southern bed, tailgate, fenders, doors, hood, cowl, and rad support as far as body parts go.

Suspension is as follows:

6 inch superlift with extended radius arms, deaver coil springs, SKY shackle flip, and super runner steering modified to accept chevy 1 ton t.r.es

Axles are as follows:

D44 TTB with chevy 8 lug outers, trussed beam, rebuild 4.10 3rd member, and new axle shafts

Sterling 10.25 with a L/S and 4.10s.

All of this will be going in the truck within the next couple of months so stay tuned. Oh, and it will also be getting painted dark gray.

Here's the truck the day I brought it home:

Are you taking this opportunity to ditch the bricknose front end or are you one of the few people that like that style?

I was never a fan of the bricknose until I actually owned one. I've grown rather fond of it. The only thing I'll be doing is getting clear corner lenses for it.

I did replace the hood and headlight assemblies recently.

That should look good. I don't hate a brick by any means and they do grow on you, but it's my least favorite out of the 80-96 platform.

It definatly isn't a bad looking truck. Hope it treats you well!

At first I like the brick nose (as my buddy had a 89 f350 crew cab dually then we always used to cruise around town in) But i started to like the 80-86 bull noses more, but ended up buying a brick nose. They for sure grow on you and I prefer them over the 92-96 front ends. I ones with the chrome grille is ok, but im not a fan of the plastic ones.

Thanks, I picked up a 100% rust free never patched bed on Craigslist for $400. Here in Pa, that is unheard of. They usually go for around $900 :-jammin
