Do you HAVE to have a chip to take the dpf fliter off and replace it with a flo pro?

So I HAVE TO HAVE a chip? Like I have a bully dog but it doesn't delete the dpf crap but I just wanna take the dpf fliter off bc of other reasons
not a chip but a programmer to re-program the pcm. All done through the OBD port.
So in others you can't take it off bone stock something will mess up? If I can take it off and nothing will mess up I will, idc about re gen it can re gen all it wants

I have a bully dog but does not shut off the regen and everything
No, the cheapist one I know of is this Home Page
But I don't know anything about them. |
Dang well that answers my question the only question I have left is how would mess my truck up if I didn't have the programmer?
Dont do it. Get the proper tune and do it right...like everyone else! We arent keeping a secret from you, lol.
Way out of your league here. You need to do a lot more reading and studying before you even think about tuning.
hate to say it...but as frantic as he sounds...it sounds like he's already done it!! The best thing he could've done is research the truck/deleting before purchase... soon as I thought about buying a 6.4 I joined this site.. learned quite a bit from senix,bubbasz1,slowmans...... still don't understand people buying 30-40k trucks ....knowing nothing of them!
Since no one has spelled it out for our noob (even though all correct advice has been given - research more!)... the regen function dumps fuel into the exhaust to burn off the soot in the DPF.
Listen to these guys. You gotta pay if you wanna play. If you take off the dpf, it will ruin the engine without a proper tune. It's as simple as that. |
