Transmisssion?

I'm hoping someone might have an idea what to look at here. Today I was driving on the interstate at about 70 mph and my truck seemed like it popped out of gear...no loud noise or anything. I was able to coast off the off ramp and my truck was still running but sounded a little odd when I revved it. No gears work and when i revved it in gear it sounded like something loose in the bell housing area maybe. After I turned it off I was not able to restart it, sounded like the starter was just free spinning. Any ideas? Flywheel maybe?

Sounds almost like the bolts holding the torque converter to the flex plate broke , unfortunately you would have to pull the transmission back to find out

Is that somewhat common? I have the Roush supercharger, so with the extra torque I can see that happening. Would I be able to see anything through the little peek hole in the bottom of the transmission?

I would look there first and then possibly remove the starter and look in that area before pulling the transmission back. But it does sound like removing the transmission is in your future

OK I looked in the inspection hole while someone turned it over and could see the flywheel spinning. What should my next step be...pull the transmission?

Its a broken flexplate for sure. Does anybody know of a stronger aftermarket flexplate for these trucks?

The only flex plates I can find besides the Motorcraft unit are one from ATP and another from Pioneer. Does anyone know anything about these brands, or if there is something that will hold up better to the power my trucks producing?
Thanks in advance.
