Rear end interchange
Hello all,
Been a while since I posted. Got my 53 Merc (06 ranger mechanicals) up and running last fall (see gallery for pics). Today my question is about my daily driver tho.
2002 F150 FX4. 232,000 km (140k miles approx). 3.55 limited slip 9.75". Rebuilt twice and just finished third seal change (replace bearing and front pinion seal plus fresh oil). Axles have deep grooves warn and I suspect that's what caused r.h. axle seal and subsequently replace bearing to fail after only a year and 25,000 km (15,000 miles). Time to find a whole new rear end assembly. My question is are later 04+ axles the same save spring and shock perches? I have the tools and know how to relocate and swap over perches if this is the case? My axle code is V919A and is a limited slip. I don't care about getting a limited slip only match ratio since its 4wd. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks
