Keypad entry

Does anybody know if there is a way to get the factory code for the keypad on the door without going to the dealer and paying $45 for them to pull the code? I bought the truck used, it's an 04 FX4

Have you looked really close through the glovebox, owner's manual, etc. to see if the factory code card is wedged in there somewhere?

They didn't give me an owners manual when I bought the truck, bought used. Somewhere I thought I read that the code would be on the computer but maybe I'm blind but I didn't see anything.

Take off the rear seat back rest and panel and you'll see the control box for the keyless and your factory code on the white label. The seat belt bolts are T 50 and I believe there's more on this in the tech page on FTE or Google er!

I did exactly that to get mine. It was hell getting the bottom latches to release to pull the seat back off. Do yourself a favor and zip tie the bottom latches so you wont have to fight it to get it off again.

Good thing is, once you get the original code, you can reprogram your keyless entry to whatever code you choose.

Awesome thanks for advise will do exactly that as soon as I find my T50 torx bit

There is a tutorial on youtube showing a very easy way to get the back seat off .
and this only works if your key pad is factory , my 04 came with a card with the code in the owners manual , but it is add on not factory.

Is there a way to find out if it's factory or add on?

show us a picture of the keypad

if there is a hole cut in the door, then the keypad is original

if the keypad is double side stuck to the door...then it's still OEM Ford, but installed afterwards.

If code not there, search on here about code retrieval-someone posted a spreadsheet that has all combinations and said it only takes about 15 min find right code

Like Tylus said , if your keypad is part of the actual door handle plate , it will be on the box behind the back seat,..if it is a numbered strip above the door handle it is add on ,..

It's factory install not add on, but I can't get my fat arm through to pop the clips off...lol just my luck
