Switching 330 from 2 barrel to 4 barrel - GTG or HELL NO...?!?!

Would switching the stock 330 from 2 barrel to 4 barrel "wake it up" -

More power and better efficiency - Or is the cam too mild / exhaust too restrictive to know the difference?

Anyone try this swap - And if so - What new intake manifold / CFM carb did you use?

FT engine, installed in 1964/78 F500/750 and etc trucks.

OP's F600 has the 330 2V Medium Duty. There was also: 330 2V Heavy Duty, 361 2V (& 1974/78 - 361 4V) and 391 4V.

ah thank you!

Yeah - I never heard of a Ford 330 V8 until I bought this truck either.

Would any small block ford manifolds work?

If you're going to keep your FT engine, get a copy of Steve Christ's book "How to Rebuild Big Block Ford Engines". The FT is basically a close relative of the FEs (332, 352, 360, 361 (Edsel), 390, 406, 410, 427, 428) and this book will tell you in Chapter 3 about parts interchange possibilities between FTs and FEs. No, small block stuff will not interchange. Most F100 vendors sell this book.

Probably in the minority but my vote would be to keep the 2bbl carb, don't believe you will gain that much, there's also the matter of type of transmission and rear axle ratio. Found when I swapped the 2bbl to 4bbl on the 65 w/ the 302 I did not gain a thing.
