Part identification

Can anyone tell me what this is, and where it goes. I found it on top of my intake manifold. The truck is a 1996 F250 w/ 460 cu. engine.

That looks like the oil plug for a Briggs and Stratton engine! What the heck is it doing there?

cscott952 02-01-2014 08:25 PM

Wow! I guess it could be. It looks like its been there a while, and I couldn't find where it came from originally. I'm the second owner of the truck, so maybe the previous owner left something behind.

Stranger things have been found in engine compartments. I worked for an auto parts place in Texas. They had a salvage yard too and the guys were always showing off their "treasures" like knives, jewelry, money, a gun once, various bones both animal AND human, strange marital aids, and on and on.

It is a drain plug for a radiator.

Could be one of those plugs that comes in a new master cylinder. What is the thread size?

Looks like a radiator drain plug to me

I found one of these taking the bumper off of my 94 F250 parts truck. I checked it against the radiator plug and it is different.

The mystery continues.............................
