96 f150 4x4 front shock mount question

Does anyone know if I can replace my front shock mounts which are Quad shock mounts with single shock mounts?
Mine are getting extremely rusted and Im wondering if I can change them over to single shock mounts without drilling holes.
If any one knows let me know.
I realize I could just measure but I have to purchase one to do any measuring.
And so happens I have 3 of these f150's and they all have the damn Quad shock.
And I dont see any reason to have 4 shocks on the front.I dont run a snow plow or anything.
Thanks:-jammin

Yes, they use the same bolt pattern.

OR, you can use the double shock mount but only run single shocks

Thanks Diesel Brad!
They look identical to me but I wasnt sure. Im going to go with the single shock mount.
I was just going to replace them with the Quad mounts and run single shocks but the Quad mounts are hard to find and also they are quite a bit more price wise than the singles.
Keep replacing things on this truck its going to be all new soon...LOL
Just replaced the rear shackles springs and everything with new and put in new 1 ton ford van springs, new ball joints axle joints calipers drums bearings, gas tanks.
Keep going Im going to get the urge to throw a new paint job at it!

What van were your springs from? The length (and width) were both right on?

captain1997 01-25-2014 02:00 PM

the springs and shackles and all the bolts and bushings were out of a 95 e350 ford van which is the one ton (which compared to a one ton pickup is not really a one ton). I found them at my local salvage yard it was a utility van and the front end had been totaled out but the rear springs and shakles were brand new Ford OEM not even dirty and still wearing the Ford stickers with the stocking bar code.
I measured them up they were the same width and length.Bought everything for $75 bucks brought them home got out the torch and wacked off the rivets and throwed them on.
It only raised the rear slightly.
But I can definitely tell the difference when I haul my trailer or put anything in the back it takes a hell of alot more to make her squat!
One of my better cheap investments!

If your looking for measurements between the two I can give them to you. I have both in Stock so I can compare them both if you like.

Let me know!
