O.T propane tank

Hey guys,I happen to get a filled propane tank from a forklift, was wondering if it can be used for a propane floor heater in the garage, the heater is attached to grill bottle

you can use it only if the gauge has the 2 levels on it...horizontal and vertical.or you would have to lay it on its side(probably not to safe).

I would check with a propane house on whether the regulator on the new tank, and/or the one on the old tank, were suitable. The one on the new tank likely flows a lot more than a BarBQ grille regulator, the one on the old tank may not be rated to the pressure of the new tank. I'd wager a two-stage reg is needed.

I used the bar-b-q tank to run my forklift. I was using my forklift in my shop on a Sunday, the place I go to fill my tanks is closed on Sunday. I was in the middle of a lift when it died. I thought my second tank was filled but when I went to get it I found it was also empty. I grabbed the barb-b-q tank and found the connection was completely different. Took a ride to farm supply store, bought fittings I needed and got the forklift running again. I keep the fittings in my tool box for the next time I forget to fill my tanks. I can exchange my barb-b-q tanks almost anywhere, not so with the bigger forklift tanks.

Beats me....but one time I had to run my house off of the tank from the BBQ grill...LOL

Even though I got the heat and the hot water up and running in the house it sure took a long time to thaw out the Ol' Lady.....sheesh
