Garage heat

Just a question do any of you guys heat your garage/workshop? If so what do you use? I am getting for waiting for warm days to work on my truck or other projects.

Hey David. All I have right now is this 240V little box heater from Northern tool. Works okay when it's about 25 degree's or more, otherwise it's too small.

I would have done a propane, but I don't have the venting necessary for it.

When I lived in town my shop had electric baseboard heaters in it. Not the most efficient, but it was warm. I've also got a Knipco style propane heater that works well. Not as stinky as the kerosene ones but still need some ventilation. I've thought a wood stove would be alright, but it's a bit harder to control the heat.

Dad has the infared propane ones. They are OK but it's about 1000 degrees under them, then the farther away you get the colder it is.

The floor heat in out shop at work is REALLY nice!

ANY heat is better than NO heat

I plan on using a heated floor, when I put up my shop.

I am just using a small propane forced air heater. It's about 45,000 btu and heats my 2 car garage to about 80 when its below freezing outside in less than an hour.
