Thanks fellers.... I'm a sucker for a dog. I wonder about a person that doesn't like dogs, but I'd never second guess a dog that doesn't like a person.:-X22

Glad you got you intake stuff finished, and an all nighter is a tuff one. You mention pictures, and you know the rules...

This is my new garage. I got a great price for it couldn't turn it down. Great ventilation. Open floor plan.

Luckily I was able to clean a lot of this when I had it off. Major design flaw on the 3.8s and 4.2s. Oil passing into intake. Add to that the stock isolator bolt grommets are not oil resistant. Mine were hard and brittle. No wonder third time in the years this had to be done. Glad I did it my self this time.

Love the new shop canes. No worries about carbon monoxide poisoning or paint fumes.

That photo is inside the intake manifold? Man its all gunked up. Glad you got it squared away. Did you have any bolts or parts left over? That's always fun. :D

No I didn't lol. Yes inside the lower intake. I was just going to do the isolators and upper gasket and hope it solved the issue. When I got that far down I couldn't leave it. So that change of plans extended things quite a bit.

Speaking of extra parts by one in the morning I was brain dead. When I uninstalled the upper plenum I drew a little outline on a cardboard lid and put all the bolts through the cardboard to keep up with them and where they came from. Well my torque spec/tightening sequence page from alldata had 12 bolts. I had 14. I'm my mental state it till about ten minutes and a Marlboro to figure things out.

300 miles today and no issues. I'm glad I don't have to do it again.

Oh and last thing. I'm convinced the tailgate is the world's best work bench. Especially one on a beater , lol

GOOOOD morning everybody:-X21. Almost finished with my first mug of coffee, My name is Earl, is over, Rocky has been outside for his morning duties, now it's computer time, FTE, Craigslist, and a little Facebooking:-X22.
So far it looks like the high lite of my day is, I get to go grocery shopping later:(. Since I've been off work with a jacked up back, I'm basically "Mr. Mom" though I'm lucky/blessed that my wife (Shari) has a good job, and I've always been an insurance nut, I/we usually buy the extended insurance on major electronics (That paid off big two years ago) and on vehicles that we buy, and my last employer started offering short and long term disability insurance. And I know that things DO happen, so I signed up. Good thing, two years later, I'm needing it.... So I draw a monthly check too...
Whew, that was a little more about me that just spewed out.
Hope y'all have a safe day:-X22

Unk Bob:-wink

Good morning Bob! Sounds like you have had a busy morning. Nap time!

I decide to come home last night. 300 miles and an 8 hour work day on 3.5 hours sleep. Guess what? I overslept this morning. Driving to Durham now.

Y'all have a good day. The real world awaits:-)

ubereal2 02-04-2014 07:35 AM

That's a hard schedule, be careful driving. Nap time... uh shortly!:p

Unk Bob
