1997 F-250. Where is brake light switch?

Okay, before I go out in the cold to troubleshoot this, could anybody point me to the right area? Would this be under the dash by the brake pedal? There are a few wires that connect to the master cylinder, but aren't they just for the brake fluid float?
Symptoms: I usually don't have brake lights, but occasionally they do come on. Also, if driving with the cruise control on, stepping on the brakes will not release the cruise control, it just wants to continue to accelerate. (That can be a little unnerving!)
BTW, this truck is the wheels with 7 lug nuts, so it's the light duty F-250 or I guess I should say the heavy F-150. TIA.

Brake lamp switch is at the peddle .Attaches where the booster rod attaches .

Better check for the master cylinder switch being shorted because if the brake switch does not work to kick the CC off, the master cylinder pressure switch is supposed to do it by opening power to the CC controller..
Seams you have two problems at the same time.
Better get it solved or don't use CC.
If the pressure switch is leaking fluid it is a fire hazard. Pull the plug off it until repairs are made per factory recall. Doing this makes the CC inoperative.
Good luck.
