Stink-N-Rich: Find the Diesel

OK... You've all seen/heard videos of sub-highway speeds and plenty of lighters flicking like Stinky's on stage at a concert. It's time for the real deal... it's a conventional day in the life of Da Big Stink and his faithful companion - Seven Point Three. No racing/passing, no tire ripping, no tractor pulls, no needle-bending, and no aerial stunts... just hauling my butt to work through the Columbia Gorge while keeping me warm, comfortable, and entertained. Isn't this really why many of us spend our precious time and money to nurse along an aging fleet?

The inky-dinky speakers on my laptop don't get the bass or the road noise, but my wife's surround-sound floor thumper (she likes bass in he music, and I bribed her to let me work on Stinky for a whole year) reproduces it pretty accurately.

Exactly. This was a group effort, hence posting the results here.

I liked it. Good choice of tunes, ( the music), the truck sounds good to.:D

What's the tune (music I mean) and who sings it Rich?

There was a country band called "Big and Rich" years back, don't remember if that was one of theirs though. I don't listen to much country anymore, sounds like one continuos song now. Went back to classic rock.:-jammin

The song is Aaron Tippin singing Big Boy Toys. A great song, A great singer.

Great video Rich! It's amazing what some of the right stuff can do to make these trucks a real pleasure to drive. A good stereo system is a must for me!!

I have almost every genre of music on my SD card (CDs are Jurassic)... I never know what's going to strike me at a given moment, plus my wife likes stuff I wouldn't otherwise put on there. The "next track" button on the remote gets frequent use, but that SD card can hold 1200 songs (when filled)... so skipping music doesn't make repeat plays - not even on long hauls.

Is that an apple orchard on the right side?

Yup... I'm in fruit-tree country. Apples, cherries, peaches, apricots, plums, pluots, and every strain of tree fruit in between. Spring looks really cool with a canyon full of blossoms. I'll get a vid this spring and share.

I was in Yakima last summer. First time I ever saw the leaning trees.

While we're way off-topic, I'll respond to that. Tree fruit farming has gone uber-high-tech. The "old" way of planting an orchard would put 300 trees per acre and the fruit would grow where it would on the tree. Now they plant 1200 saplings per acre, cut them off, graft a different variety to the root stock, trellis the trees into a "V", and shape them into a "bowl" for better sun exposure. It looks funky, but it makes fruit farming more profitable and a better-looking/eating apple is the end result.
