mounting front bumper
trucks in my sig, if your following my build thread you know what happened already but if not here's a quick run thru. My truck has a body lift, when we put on the lift, in order to prevent the gaudy bumper gap we torched the brackets off of the frame horns and moved them higher to make the gap go away. That being said when we moved them we welded them back up. When I got in my head on wreck the welds just snapped and the bumper just fell off. So now my frame horns don't have brackets any more.
here's what im looking at now http://i1294.photobucket.com/albums/...ps0fc14571.jpg My question I can I mount the bumper without the use of the brackets that are on the frame horns or am I going to have to buy new brackets and weld them back on the frame horns? |
Just weld on some angle iron and drill holes in the appropriate locations.

Like others have stated. Angle iron
but have someone else weld them on(or bolt them on) since you can't weld |
since I can't weld? lol I welded my entire exhaust system and it doesn't have a leak anywhere I think I can weld...
|
If "the welds just snapped" on the relocated bumper brackets, something is amiss... Generally, if there is enough of the joint welded, and the weld is hot enough, the base metal should tear before the weld fails...
|
Well I didn't weld the bumper on a shop did lol but I guess I should have been more specific than "we"
But either way brad doesn't like me very much anyway |
I can't imagine why
