Turbos and timing belt
I've been hearing from some people in my area that it is a common occurrence to have to replace both turbos and also the timing belt well under 100000 kms. I searched through this forum and never really found anything here. Anyone out there experiencing these problems? I'm looking to get an eco boost in the near future and wondering what to expect. Thanks

Thats news to me. I've seen a couple posts out there about turbo problems, but its pretty rare.
I'm pretty sure the EB uses timing chains, not a belt. |
Maybe I miss understood him. My next door neighbor has a 2011 and he has already replaced both turbos and the timing chain and only has 70000 kms on the truck. A tech from the dealer told me in was very common at this dealership. I was kind of puzzled because a salesman from another dealership said they haven't seen many problems at all with them. That's why I asked here to see if anyone else was having any problems. I also searched the forum and nothing popped up. Doesn't seem to be wide spread. Thanks for the reply

I've heard of one turbo issue besides this one and yes, the EB uses a timing chain.

That's good to hear. Maybe they were trying to make a mountain out of a mole hill. Thanks for the reply and info

Exactly what I was thinking. There would be a thread with a rather large post count on here if it was a common problem. There isn't a lot of activity on this one either so that tells me I shouldn't be worried about it
