Riffraff 6/6 Wheel & BD 1.0 Ex. Housing

Purchased my new 6/6 compressor wheel and 1.0 exhaust housing 2 weeks ago and I just wanted to let every know Diehardstroker and I plan on doing some logging with our Torque App to see the advantages and increases these mods have. Looking forward to the testing and the weekend to come. We should have pictures and graphs posted Sunday afternoon!

scotttahoe 11-13-2013 10:14 PM

HKusp 11-15-2013 09:53 PM

Man that bay looks empty. Contrast that with the F450 dually 6.4 I was messing with yesterday. Looks like you couldn't fit a piece of paper under their hood.

You guys are having some fun.

Pitcrw6 11-15-2013 10:18 PM

Sounds like a good weekend.

Is your IC pipe dented for a reason?

Diehard and I read that at the same time, looked at each other, turned and looked at the IC pipe at the same time with a confused look on our face, then looked back at each other trying to figure out what the H311 you were talking about, looked back at the IC pipe and we decided that we think its manufactured that way, if not then somebody put a huge dent in to make it fit.

DHamSTER 11-15-2013 10:32 PM

Turbo Progress..... We are currently trying to get the exhaust housing off... We did break one bolt but the new housing came with a complete reinstall kit!

Your intake looks ridiculous, you notice any improvements? Don't forget about the CCV delete while your in there. Thanks for posting all this I need to rebuild my turbo soon and those are most of the mods I already have saved in my wish list at riffraff.

DHamSTER 11-15-2013 11:32 PM

Finally got the Exhaust housing off, made a run to taco bell and now we are about to get back at it!

DHamSTER 11-15-2013 11:54 PM

Riffraff is doing some huge things over in Oregon!!!

This new turbo looks sharp and very effective.

Got the stock wheel off and now it's time to put it back together!!!!

Compressor wheel is back on...

Im not sure Im gonna do the CCV mod... If I do it, it is because I have an 70 bucks.

DHamSTER 11-16-2013 03:05 AM

So we got everything reinstalled around 3am... took it for a test run to get some new numbers but with my foot on the floor; the speedo reading 60mph my boost gauge was only telling me 9psi.... Diehard and I plan to get back at it tomorrow afternoon and we also plan to get our final numbers posted by the end of the day. We think we have a solution for the boost leak, just a simple reposition of the spyder.

Quite the disappointing event to end the night... 5 hours of work to end like that...

Got the compressor housing back on and bolted the 1.0 housing on.

I do believe this picture has the outlet back on the backside. So the turbo is now back together.
http://i1345.photobucket.com/albums/...ps09e98c0b.jpg

Got the turbo positioned and reinstalled.

Everything is back on and she's ready to go!

It is manufactured that way to provide clearance around the power steering pump.

That's what we said. It's manufactured that way...

Looking good.

BadDogKuzz 11-16-2013 10:11 AM

Dylan thanks for the photos I am sorry it going to take alittle more work to get it dialed in. But looking good! :-X22 It is hard to tell by your photo but the clamp on the syder to turbo doesn't look right. Now I am sure you were planning on doing this anyway but make sure all them new fancy lower syder & plenum clamps are loose until you have the syder to turbo sealed. Check the oring for damage.

I can't wait to hear how this set up works out for you. Because I have a feeling you should be the same results as the guys running a ported compressor housing but better boost #'s. But what I want to know about is do you get any surge when towing down the highway. Do you tow? If so please post up after towing with this combo.

There is one more thing that I think would help compliment this set up is a Turbo Master w.g. actuator. I run one and I am very happy with it. But mind you the stock w.g. actuator is actually way more refined in doing the job. But T.M actuator gives you way more adjustabilty. So it is somewhere in between a stock w.g. actuator and a non waste gated housing. Just something to think about.

Thanks for the advice and pointers! Diehard is actually the one doing the new plenums, when I posted the first pictures of all the new toys I listed who has what.

Diehard got a ported housing with his Beans chip back January and in stock tune the ported really has no performance increase except for the elimination of surge.

I actually plan on getting the Big Head Wastegate. I believe it's almost the same actuator as the one you recommended.

The Big Head actuator is like the stock one just with a bigger spring in it and it vacuum operated like the stock one and is a spring-loaded canister. The Turbo-Master is only spring loaded No vacuum. T.M. lets turbine inlet pressure is retained up to the preset point of bypass. So it is actually totally different that stock or Big Head set up. The T.M is more like a dump valve if that makes sense to you. I don't want to post a link due to the seller is not a sponsor here. But do a google on it and see what you think.

This might help to actually see the difference. This is my E99 turbo with 1.0 housing, WW and TM.

What is the difference between the big head and the turbo master?

Dylan you are killing me here. :-roll I explained the best I could 2 post ago and I think if you compare the photo of your turbo and the photo of mine you should see the differents.
