2008 V10 spark plugs
I have a 3V 2008 V10. Should I worry about the spitting and blown out soak plug issues of earlier V10's?
As far as spark plugs- are the champion one piece plugs a good idea? Has anyone used this tool !? http://www.denlorstools.com/home/dt1...65600_alt.html Moved from the 6.2 forum (rvpuller) |
Buy Motorcraft! I picked mine up from Rockauto for a reasonable price. They don't seem to have the problem with them spitting out. Is yours a early 08 or late 08? The later ones have brown boots I think. Mine is a late 08 and I had to use the 09 model to order anything. As for the tool, do you have a broken plug? I didn't have any issue with mine, I warmed the engine up and took them out. I would put a little never sieze on them when going back in.

Why not get the one piece ?

The Motorcraft is one piece. About the only thing I would put a Champion in is a weedeater. IIRC, Ford updated all the plugs to a one piece design. Our motors really don't seem to like anything but factory parts.

the best source of information on the subject would be to consult Kenny Powers however short of this I will tell you that your year you could either have the two piece problematic plugs or the one piece . if the plug boots under the coilovers packs are a brown color then you have the new heads with the low thread factory one piece design and you are majorly in luck.the engines build after I believe it is the ninth of october of 2007 are approximately the beginning of the new style heads.you can check your engine build date by lookingat the drivers side valve cover there is a white engine build date: sticker there. but the best way is just to look at the brown boots under the coil over packs
