divorced transfer case three drive shafts in-cab fuel tank crossmember under front bumper 5-7 leaves in front spring pack 4" blocks in rear '77.5 (lowboy) married transfer case two drive shafts no in-cab fuel tank no crossmember under front bumper 2-3 leaves in front spring pack 3" blocks in rear |
Vin and or look at the door striker tag (I know they call it something different) and see the 2 month and 2 year manufacture date to know.
My silver 77.5 was made in 10/77 so its a oct baby with all the lowboy equipment. |
Thanks guys helpful as always looks like ive got the 77.5

VIN...
I know they say the cutoff was 20,000 for the vin, mine however, is 22,000 with all the highboy items. I even found the vin on the frame to verify cabs were not switched at some point. maybe I have the last true Highboy made.

You're not the first guy....those "hard and fast" numbers that one sees in the parts catalog do not equate to the real world......
I can't venture a guess when the last highboy was, but I can guarantee you it was after Y20,001 |
.
maybe that should be a new thread here. What is the highest VIn for a 77 Highboy. I'll post mine tonight when I get home.

It causes a lot of confusion when a new guy posts up here with what he claims is a post '77.5 highboy, e.g. serial # Z21,901 and we say no, Y20,001 is the cut-off. There's been a few guys on here with legitimate highboys, post Y20,001 |
