Smog test with EGR delete in Nevada

I just moved to Nevada and have had an EGR delete. Will it pass inspection like this? If not what do I do?

What does the smog test consist of in Nevada?

It depends on how the EGR was deleted, if the EGR cooler was completely removed it won't pass the tampering law, if it has the stealth delete ( EGR cooler gas pass plugged at both ends ) you will be fine. You need to see if the EGR valve is even still there. Worst case scenario you will have to return the truck to stock by having the EGR cooler and EGR valve reinstalled if they were removed.

Where would I look for the cooler and valve?

Here in Vegas they do a visual, and dyno test. The vehicle goes on the rollers, probe in the pipe, and they'll mildly get it up to 45mph or so. As long as you aren't blowing clouds of smoke, it'll pass the sniffer test. When it comes to the visual, most smog techs have no idea what they're looking at. They will check for a cat, fuel cap, and glance under the hood. I had my nitrous system installed, and still passed. lol

William, where did you go? I live near a Jiffy Smog and was thinking of going there.

There are counties in Nv that do not require smog inspections.

I live in Las Vegas. Clark Co.

I have the EGR delete and get my smog done at a smog station next to the Emerald Casino in downtown Henderson. I have done probably five or six smog checks on my truck there and never had a problem. Most of these guys are only concerned that you pass the sniffer check and check your gas cap and exhaust.

There is a place in North Las Vegas on Nellis across from the AF Base charge less than other smog places.

The on in Henderson is Forty bucks
