7.3/ZF6 spacer plate thickness

Does anyone know the actual thickness of a 7.3/ZF6 spacer plate? I have seen it listed as 1/8", 3/16", 1/4" and 10ga and need to know so I can build one. Ford no longer stocks it and I haven't had any luck with junkyards.

What exactly are you talking about? I have my truck entirely torn apart right now and I'll measure it for you if I can figure out what your needing.

It's the bell housing spacer between the engine and transmission. Looks like this.

Ok, what do you need to know about it?

JSchuricht 09-17-2013 05:41 PM

Just how thick it is so I can make one.

I need the same answer did you ever find out?

I ended up cutting one out of 10ga steel using the auto spacer as a template. Everything works fine but I think it's a bit thin because my clutch engagement is at the extreme top of the pedal. On the other hand that could be from the mix of SD/OBS cylinders but it hasn't been enough of an issue to attempt fixing it.

rjrandy96 07-30-2016 02:32 PM

So if I go with 10ga I should be good? Or do you think I should get 3/16?I have ordered the dual southbend clutch set up so I'd prefer not to burn up a 1200 clutch

JSchuricht 07-30-2016 02:47 PM

It's more of a minor annoyance than anything. I've been driving it for almost two years now including one cross country trip and there hasn't been an issue yet.

"If it ain't broken don't fix" comes to mind so i'l stick with your 10ga than. What part are obs and what are psd? Iv had both trucks and if I remember the psd slave is smaller in diameter which would in turn cause it engage earlier if using the same master cylinder

JSchuricht 07-30-2016 03:07 PM

I am running the OBS master and SD slave.

Thank you very helpfull. The spacing is what I was worried cause to close would burn it up quick

Bumping an old thread.

I have an extra one of these that i'm trying to list on eBay.

Does anyone know the proper name and or what they're worth?

I can't find a single one of them anywhere for sale.

Thanks!

Stumbled across this

You wouldn't by any chance still have this?

7.3 6 speed block plate

Anyone ever find a source on these? I need one bad, ford p/n F81Z-7007-CA and F81Z-7007-AB (2 pieces)
if I end up having it made, is there interest from others for it? Once I have the CAD file written, I can make "copies".
