Starter Didn't Engage

Went out for dinner this weekend and when we came back to start the truck the starter just started a spin, it never engaged the engine to turn it over. I waited for it to stop spinning and went to start it again and it started just fine and has everytime since.

I think it was just a fluke thing since it only happened once and has started about 10 more times since without an issue, without it doing it everytime I don't think the dealer will even look at anything.

If anyone else has seen this before let me know, if not I am not going to worry about it.

It happened on mine approximately 17k miles ago. I'm willing to call my a glitch in the system. I hope you are too!

Hi Leon,

If you're concerned, you can always have your dealership check things out the next time you're there for a maintenance visit. Let me know if you need any additional assistance and I'll do what I can to help. :)

It has happened to me twice. First time I did not think much about. The second time I did a remote start and heard the ziiiing. If the starter does not engage using the remote start will it cause any problems? Anybody have any thoughts. BTW - the first time was 2 weeks ago and the 2nd time was today.
