That's it sitting right in front with the black cap on it... correct?
Starting not to blow as cold as it did in the past.. Cool, but not cold. Tim |
That one is the high side fitting. The low side is behind the air filter.

i think you have to take the air filter cover off to even see it. thats the one you will want to fill with
|
If you purchase a recharge kit , it will only fit the low side fitting . The high side is a different size .

Thanks for you help men. I will look in the morning when it gets light out.

Behind air box against firewall.

Makes you wonder why the high side is so access able, yet the one you need is such a pita to get to.

If you buy one of the recharge kits in a store be aware the gauges are extremely inaccurate. It is extremely easy to overfill the system with those DIY kits. The safe way is to have a gauge on both sides to monitor pressure when the system is max cold and the compressor is cycling off and on. Inexpensive gauges can be purchased for $50 or so at autozone, and they have a port to add refrigerant. The cans of R134 are much cheaper than buying them in the DIY kit. If your compressor starts cycling off and on every couple seconds it is most likely overfull and the pressure is too high.
