F250 4.5" carli lift
 

Having a Carli Pintop installed on my 2012 F250 this week. Should be finished on Friday.

It's the Cari Pintop 4.5" lift kit with the upgraded rear leafs.

Wheels and tires are being delivered tomorrow. I went with D508 Octane 18" wheels and 35x12.5x18R Toyo Open Country M/Ts.

I'm not sure if I should've gone with 37" tires, but for now, 35s will have to do.

I will post pics of the truck with the lift when I pick it up on Friday.

As it turns out, this is the first Carli Lift being installed in the F250 6.2L

I spoke to Carli Suspension and George at 8Lug, and both believe that the kit should bolt up without any issues, however the front end will sit slightly higher than the rear due to the reduced weight.

According to George at 8Lug, it should only sit 1/2" high, which is negligible IMO. And if I decide I don't like it, I plan to swap bumpers for a Road armor bumper which would add about 300lbs to 350lbs to the front end.

I will keep everyone posted on how this all turns out.

What are you going to do with the exhaust?

What do you mean? I was planning on leaving it stock.

Interesting, I'm going to pick up my truck in the next hour, i will let you know if I encounter and rubbing of the rear drive shaft against the exhaust.

Also, the installer reported that the trucks front sits higher than the rear, but he didn't say how much. I will post pics this afternoon.

Can't wait to see the pics. I have a feeling at some point I'm going to do a 4.5" with 37's. I miss being higher up but am trying to talk myself out of it.

According to the lift installer, the front end sits about 1/2" higher than the rear when measuring from ground to frame. I personally don't notice it yet, but time may prove differently.

For those who were wondering, the carli kits bolt up to the 6.2 just fine. For my truck, the front drive shaft and the left down pipe are extremely close. In fact, I will be keeping an eye on that drive shaft for any evidence of rubbing. If there is any, I will probably have the exhaust slightly modified. I don't think a new driveshaft is the most cost efficient manner.

On a side note, I didn't realize how huge these trucks look lifted. Just the 4.5" lift and 35" tires make a big difference in how big this truck feels. Personally, I love it.

Ride quality? Definitely improved. However, for the money, I was hoping it would be a bit softer and more compliant. I need to drive the truck more to make an honest appraisal. I think that due to the lighter motor weight of the 6.2L versus the 6.7L, the front end feels stiffer. To counteract this, I would like to put about 350lbs of road armor + winch to increase the front end weight.

I was originally going to go with 37" tires, but I was told I would definitely have to re-gear, since I have the 3.73. I didn't want to increase the cost of this setup, since it was already quite expensive after it was finished.

Still thinking about those 37s... Those may happen after I put a road armor bumper and have the two-tone covered with line-x... Man are these trucks spendy!

That is a nice looking truck, but Is the rear centered in the wheel well? I can't tell but the picture looks like its not?

I thought the same thing... I'm not really sure about it, but it definitely looks off center
