2001 SD window tracks

I have researched a problem with my power windows (front doors) and determined I need to replace the weatherstrip inside the window tracks.

They drag sometimes to a stop while going down. Grabbing the top of the glass and rocking it forward seems to help get them going again, but is not really my idea of "power windows." They go up just fine. Lubing the tracks with dry silicone spray helps for a while.

So nowhere, but NOWHERE, can I find step-by-step instructions or a video showing it done on a Super Duty (front doors.) Can anybody help? either with the "how to" or a link to a video? :-huh

Thanks!

most power windows are one of thwo styles.. a scissor or cable system.. once the door card (panel) is off lower the window to access the two bolts that hold the window to the regulator.. then tilt the windos from the back to the front and pull it out the top.. once its out pull out the regulator/track and regrease it while your in there time to pull out the track guide (rubber/felt)

hope this helps.. they are all pretty much the same to be honest.. if you can do one you can do them all..

AT least it a ford in the video.. LOL

Do you guys happen to know the part numbers for the channels? When ever i look it up at like Tousley they only have the drivers side. My passenger window is doing the same thing and I want to just put all new everything in there including glass because its all scratched.

honestly.. IMHO... Take a look around at places then head to rockauto.com
I am a very pleased customer and will continue to buy good quality parts from them.. they carry it all and the prices are amazing compared to loacl shops and dealers... all else to check out LMC truck.. they have everything to fix what you need at decent prices.

I would be surprised if Rock Auto would have those. I replaced mine in my nowgone 2001 F350 for the same reason. It wasn't a bad although I consider myself pretty mechanically inclined. If I could remember how I did it I would give you step by step but alas those days are gone.
You should be fine, lots of room, take your time.

Update

Thanks Bubba and BigO104. I've seen a couple of videos and didn't think it would be too hard, I just wanted to be aware of any idiosyncrasies the SD's might have. I'll just wade into it when the time comes! I kept an '82 F250 on the road for 19 years and 300,000 miles, doing all the repairs myself (except transmission rebuilds and body work.) I'm not too worried about this one.

I did scrounge around Rock Auto, LMC Truck, and some other sites, but didn't find part numbers yet. I am continuing to look, and may just call a Ford dealership parts department (perhaps Gaudin Ford in Las Vegas) for them--I don't want to compromise quality for this project.

It may take a while, as I have a real plate-full this summer, and the window channels are not at the top of the list, I'm just starting early on the research part of the job.

If there is a better part out there I'm interested! Cannot figure out why the channels on the '82 never needed attention, but these do!
