I got mine from Lokar

AXracer 07-18-2013 11:19 AM

I think Lokar is the popular choice for automatic floor shifter.

I also went with a Lokar shifter. It has a push button lock. It also comes with a park/neutral safety switch.

This pic shows it pretty well:

A cheap shifter is likely to come out of gear with the weight of that long handle. It will cost you more if it goes into a "bad" gear.

I've installed a Lokar on the 700R4 in Blue.. Blue is not street driveable yet but I have her on jack stands and able to run up the engine and driveline. Lokar support confirmed there is no detent position for overdrive of the transmission. I am not too happy :-X15about that part of it but time will tell if the transmission detent will hold the transmission in overdrive or if the transmission will slip into the drive position.
Other than this engineering oversight:-roll, the Lokar unit appears well made. IMO, quite a bit overpriced.

There's always B&M shifters... been around for a while, they work and they're cheap. $140. with shipping. Not the prettiest shifter but you were looking for something for less that works. There's one in mine and it works fine with my C6.

i have looked at the b&M shifters they just dont look the same you know

maybe i check out C-list maybe find a used one for th350 lol

wallster 07-18-2013 07:08 PM

I don't love mine either but i just spent about $2k in parts that I needed so the shifter change will have to happen at another time.

Good luck with your quest.

Lokar is worth the price. 15000 miles so far no problem with shifter. Some things, IMHO shouldn't be bought on the cheap. My 2cts, good luck with your search whatever you decide.

AXracer 07-19-2013 04:55 PM

Summit lists 37 shifters for the TH350 with reverse lockouts, but they all run 150-250.00 range. You need to decide what is important, lockout, looks, price?

I have a mustang II or granda shifter in mine.....:).

Lokar is kind of a love-hate deal. I hate their price but love their products. They look cool, work well and very seldom is the install a hassle.

Mine is a Hurst shifter, it is gated so you can't make mistakes.
