4X2 midship fuel tank sender avaliablity - ?
Has anyone ever come across a company that sells this? I was about to order from LMC but there's is for a 4X4. Seems like it's a little harder to find than I was hoping. 1976 F250 Supercab camper - if anyone has a clue to where to look I would greatly appreciate it!

That should be the same midship tank that's in my Crew. When I got mine, Mike or NumberDummy found one at a dealer for me. If I recall, there weren't many left in the country.

Gauge, fuel level sending unit
74-76 F100-350 2WD Supercab before s/n C00,000 D4TZ-9275-A replaced by D7TZ-9275-C after s/n C00,000 D7TZ-9275-C I located 1 NOS unit but they want $175.00 (!!) for it. NOS Parts Ltd. Waxahatchie, TX has 1 (972) 937-2201 Personally, I'd go with the one from JBG. |
Thanks all. I was about to order that one from The Bronco website...but it is different than the one I pulled out! Unless mine was not correct; that one looks totally different. Can anyone verify that the one on V10mamns link above is correct?
** And I have the Supercab if that makes any difference! Yeah, I had better pass on the $175.00 cost!! Appreciate it. |
I hear ya Luch. Mine looks like the ones LMC sells and the 4x4 version JBG sells.

According to the Ford parts catalog, the regular cab takes sender p/n D7TZ-9275-B.
This is what that one looks like. I couldn't come up with a picture for the "C" version that the supercab takes. |
if you can just rebuild the unit ,bronco grave yard has the parts to do this
just check the unit with a ohm meter, and if that checks out your golded,i have rebuilt many of them |

Seems like it's a little harder to find than I was hoping. 1976 F250 Supercab camper - if anyone has a clue to where to look I would greatly appreciate it! It's made from two pieces of copper soldered together, solder breaks down, gas seeps in, float settles to the bottom of the tank. :( Remove the float, shake it to hear if gas is sloshing around inside. COAZ-9202-B .. Fuel Sending Unit Float / Available from Ford / ALL 1957/79 Passenger Cars/Trucks, 1961/79 Econolines & 1966/79 Bronco's. Carpenter sells a one piece 'replacement' brass float for around 5 bucks that'll never leak. Note: NOS PARTS LTD in Waxahachie TX has the original D4TZ-9275-A sender .. not the D7TZ-9275-C replacement. |
The issue with the sending unit is electrical...the side tank was unused for who knows how many years and things are all gummed up. I tried to cleanup the resistance wire and attached the green wire to the stud but it is in sad shape.
I found a place in Hemmings to rebuild it for $135.00 - may be my option unless I can make something else work...? I will get a picture up here later Friday...its is clearly different than the regular and maybe even crew cabs. |
go to a salvage yard and try to get a used one in better shape and get a new sock filter and float from dennis or bgy.i soak mine in white vinager for a day or two then rinse with r.o. water
