This is what they looked like whole: 1936 Ford V8 Coupe Ute Ad | Flickr - Photo Sharing! The price seems a little steep, but it is pretty rare. |
cool, but man that is expensive!!
|
Expensive by US standards, fair by Aussie.
|
Well, that explains why so many Aussies buy US cars/trucks and ship them home. The rust looks like that truck is a gonner.:( Jag

IMO, parts truck at best, that is if there is any metal on it that isn't tissue paper thin. I don't care where it's at, that's way too much for basically a piece of scrap metal, unless they're getting $4K ton for scrap metal.
|
They aren't making new ones, and are hugely popular. What's your alternative?
|
Essentially a 30's Ranchero! I wish they made stuff like that here.

I was at weekly show in Rocklin about ten years ago and a 55 UTE showed up. They were just visiting friends for a few days and decided to come to our local show. The car was all restored and had a very nice white paint job. For me, the best part was the front of the car. (You would think that it would be the bed.) It had the same grill, head lights, fenders, and hood as my 55 Fairlane!:-jammin Way cool!! Jag

PS -- maybe Aussiecowboy will post pictures of his former OT ute here! You'll be surprised! |
Basically a station wagon with the rear roof cut off.
|
Nice 54! If I could find a 55 ute with the same front as my
Fairlane, that would be my next project.:-jammin Jag |

Chuck also had a Sunliner, Crown Victoria, Fairlane Town Sedan and a 9 passenger Country Squire. |

Possibly owned by Chuck Short, a rabid 1955 Ford "nut." Formerly a parts guy at Long Beach Ford Parts Obsolete, member of the Fabulous 50's Ford Club.
