Need help! Bad fuel=4 bad injectors
 

I filled the tank last week with what I think was fuel with water in it. (Whatever it was...our truck did not like it@!) We have a 2002 F350 Superduty. Currently my husband has been in the engine for the past 5 days. He says that after draining over half the tank, changing the fuel filter, using sea foam in the remaining fuel and the new filter...that 4 out of the 8 injectors are still not firing correctly. (Not hot on that side of manifold) Please any suggestions would be much appreciated, as we definitely don't have the cash to replace the injectors. Thank you for your advice.

Check the harness that goes to the valve cover on that side. Its either burned up plug or unplugged. If that don't work pull the valve cover and check all the wiring. If it was just a fuel issue it wouldn't be on one side only. Also check all wiring going to that side for chaffing etc.. Check the big plug on the drivers side valve cover for chaffing also.

Lisa, is this the passenger side? I had this happen to me a month ago and after every test I am waiting for a new PCM to arrive. Check UVCH, 42 pin connector and swap IDM with a known good one if all ohm tests pass. You should get 2.8-3.2 ohms from center pin to each injector at UVCH, 42pin connector and IDM harness. Hopefully yours is a harness issue

Under Valve Cover Harness, Injector Drive Module: it's located behind F350 badge on driver's side above the plastic wheel well cover. Power train Control Module: the main computer located behind e-brake. Let me know what you find out and I will update when my PCM comes in, hopefully Monday.

IDM is extreme but it dose happen. Try the connections first! May just need the 50 cent mod.

Welcome to FTE Lisa & husband. You probably have a better chance of hitting the lotto than having bad fuel take out only the 4 injectors on one side but leave the other side alone.

The most common reason for your truck to behave this way is an electrical connector under the valve cover comes loose so that side of the engine doesn't fire the injectors. There is one of these connectors under each valve cover. Sounds like your passenger side one came loose. This is what we mean by UVCH (under valve cover harness). Symptoms would include a CEL (check engine light) and the truck running extremely rough where you think the engine might shake itself loose from the truck or explode. Wow! Thank you so much guys....So my husband went searching as directed for the IDM...found all of the wiring...still in the middle of checking but, He did find one of the wires was exposed....Hoping he can just fix that and the problem will go away...I hope....:)

Ok...So all wiring and harnesses on the passenger side are checked and seem to be fine. CEL come on initially when started...runs rough like stated above, then smoothes out a bit..shut the truck off and turn key back to on position the CEL if no longer on...Bought a Code reader...comes up with NO codes at all. Truck has limited power(Due to the injectors not firing)...Does anyone think this could be caused by bad glow plugs? We have never changed them?
When this all began we had ran to the store ..truck was fine...came home...then went to go somewhere else and truck ran HORRIBLE! Shaking and sputtering....and here we are.

It sounds like a UVCH issue. There is a plug under the valve cover that comes unplugged and can cause your issues. Search for 50 cent mod. The plug under the valve cover can come partly unpluded and cause the whole bank to not fire.

Hubby and son in law say all 4 injectors on the passenger are done...2002 F350 for sale. :( Thanks for everyones help. Let me know if anyone is interested?
