Back up lights
The PO drilled two holes in the lower part of the 58. So I looked in my Dad's old parts bin and found these lights. I don't know what they are from but they filled the holes and don't look to bad.
https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/p...ctureid=133598 I thought I would make back up lights. Has anyone done a back up light set up. I have a manual trans so the switch would have to be custom made. And yes thats flat purple paint....this is my wife's truck and that's what she picked out. |
^ 1949/51 Ford Passenger Car backup lamps. Were a dealer installed accessory, located on the rear body panel below the deck lid.
Note: Unless you changed them, the bulbs are #1129 6V. You'll have to find a 12V single contact bulb that is the same size to replace them with. FoMoCo didn't offer backup lamps for trucks (Bronco's/Econolines) until 1967. |
Good to know they are Ford parts. I'll change the blubs before I fab the switch. I want to make sure they work before I do the fab work.

I just put a toggle with an led indication on the dash, works great.
