F100 Parts
I have been thinking of getting a 48'-59' F100...(actually have a line on a 50' f100 right now that I want). My question is-- how hard is it finding parts for these old trucks in Nevada. I rebuilt a 68' Chevy K10 when I lived in NM and it was pretty easy finding the parts I need in pick-n-pulls online etc. I was hoping to have that same kind of luck with this truck.

1948/52's are F1's. F100's introduced in 1953 and thru 1956 are Flaresides, outside rear fenders bolt to bedsides that flare outwards at the top.
1957/60's could be either Flaresides or Stylesides (introduced in 1957), are called 'fridges.' Gazillions of parts reproduced for 1948/52, 1953/56. 1957/60: Not very many parts are reproduced and can be difficult to find used. |
That depends on what part of Nevada. Here in Vegas most of the yard scrapped the old metal. I found a group of old vehicle enthusiasts that meets every Saturday morning here in Vegas. Most of them either trade parts, order them from the catalogues, or go to California boneyards. I even have trouble locally locating things for my '70.
Good luck in your searches. |
Thanks for the info, I had a feeling that I was going to have to travel for parts.
