high flow fuel pump

i'm in the process of swaping in a fairly built 390 inplace of my stock 360, and i'm flipping through my summit catalog and i noticed a carter high flow mechanical fuel pump....i'm going to be running a edelbrock 750, will the stock pump keep up under wot?
the carter pump is 120 gph at 6psi? or would electric be better?
Also, also any suggestions on jet size and metering rods?

Well, I would go for the high flow fuel pump. I have one on my 300-6 (it's actually a Master, but it is still a high volume). As far as jets and rods, send an e-mail to Edelbrock. From what I have heard, they have very good tech support, and in some cases have actually mailed out the correct parts for no charge. Just tell them exactly what you have, they are sure to help you out.

I would recommend the high volume too, my 460 has a tendancy to try to vaporlock on hot days after highway driving, then you come to a stop, take off again and about 1/2 way 1st gear, it will start running out of fuel, then it will finally catch back up and be fine. I am going to install the Edelbrock pump on mine soon.
