01 Ranger frame rail hareline crack

Hi 2 all

Just found hareline crack in right frame rail, in rear shock braket area.....:-huh

Who ever got it? How to fix?

ranger pat 06-26-2013 06:11 PM

take it to a shop that will grind or wire brush it clean, arc weld it up and repaint the area.

Is a reason to remove riviet, becouse crack starts in riviet hole and ends in inch form hole?

yep, I see, but braket is held with three riviets, so, I have to remove it. What bolts to use?

that should do it:-X0A6

my opinion those rivets all over are a royal pain...

Pablo-UA 06-27-2013 01:50 PM

well, i gonna avoid load and keep it running for a week) I gonna do marks to see does crack grow

tomw 06-28-2013 08:47 AM

If you drill a hole at the last point of the crack, it will likely stop growing. The circle spreads the 'splitting' load over a larger area, so it doesn't know which way to go.
Have not heard from you in a couple years it seems. How are things in Ukraine?
tom

Hi. Ukraine is in Y-junction, where to move and seems to me gonna step in Europe direction. President we got is bad, very bad, but no alternative to rise and change him. Russia keeps pressing on Ukrainians, but IMO, goes weaker.

Roads are bad, really bad. I own small company with fleet of one freightliner (LOL), wanna purchase European cabover trucktor soon. We use to truck in Russia and I keep working for big trucking company (LAA/Transpele). I can see total recession in Europe and in Russia. Reasons why does it happens are different but I see big economical revolution ahead. This revolution will ruin todays elites. So we keep waiting for news) LOL
