Towing after rebuilding the engine

Hi,

I have a 1993 F350 with a 460. I rebuilt the engine and have put about 1200 miles on it. It's been running fine since the rebuild.

Now I want to start using it for the purpose I got it for and that is to tow and haul. I will be towing about 8 to 9 thousand pound trailer.

Questions is: Can I start doing that now, or wait another 2000 miles, or so.

Thanks

Generally the break in period of an engine is 500-1000 miles. You should be okay. Have you changed the oil and filter already? I might suggest changing those first, but after that you should be good to go.

Oil and filter changed at 700 miles. I was going to do it at 500, but didn't get a chance.

Thanks

Good to go IMHO!

That's great. This is my first rebuild, looks like I didn't screw up too badly. Time will tell, but so far so good.

Thanks
