cab swap question

i'm in the middle of doing a cab swap. the cab i'm putting on my chassis is a two wheel drive. my question is do i have to cut the whole tunnel out or just enough to clear the top of the tranny ( 4spd. ) and t-case lever ? thanks in advance.

cut out

I stayed way in the indentation line of 2 wheel cab auto, and used my original trans hood from my 75hb ,dont have a pic

The tunnel should be stamped. Just cut it out then drill the holes for the mounting clips & put the cover off your old cab on it.

i see the cut line, just didnt want to cut it all out if i really didnt have too.

I use my engine hoist to set cabs & boxs on so it helps to have the extra room. I tend not to remove the shifters tho. Lol

Don't cut at the line, stay inside an inch or so or you won't have anywhere to screw to.

I just did the same thing this week and I just cut out enough room the get the sticks in, works fine. I cut them just smaller than the rubber boot that cover them.

thanks guys, i'm going to just follow the floor pan cover pattern and go from there. i see no reason to have one big hole if i don't need too. if i can just cut a square out for the tranny and an oval one for the transfer case then thats what i want to do .
also is there a gasket that fits the cover ?
thanks again.

I thought about just cutting holes big enough for the shifters, but then decided not too once I looked at it closer and realized it would be a perfect spot for water/mud/etc to get stuck. I cut out the whole opening and am glad I did since it also gave me better access to the tranny
