major spark plug issue

Hi everyone.
I was working on my nephews 2005 F150 changing his spark plugs for the first time. Truck has 130000 miles on it. Bought the lisle tool, before beginning the job. Began on the drivers side, first two broke off, tool worked great. Began working on the third one and it broke off, and instead of the shield coming out, it stripped metal from cone. Now I cannot get a grip of shield to pull on. I am sure somebody has had this happen to them...Any suggestions?
Thanks Jim

How many attempts did you try to get the extractor threaded in?
Is it possible to press the porcelain down further into the shield to hopefully get a little more bite on the metal shield?

You could maybe try turning the motor over. Maybe you would get lucky enough that the compression in the cylinder would dislodge the stuck sheild and push it out.

I second trying to press the ceramic down further. Probably will cause particles to drop into the cylinder, so consider trying to vacuum it out (different opinions out there on necessity). Also, double check the Lisle thread. On my 7th broken plug, the thread stripped and failed to pull the shield out. Found a replacement thread tool on ebay.
