Frame braces.

I took a couple of days off work, and started to modify my new frame for my 66 F100 CV swap. This time while I was at it I welded up the cross members for a bit more structure since its easy on a bare frame.

In a month I will swap the body around so I can get to work on making motor mounts, and finish bracing the front together with the CV in place.

Would it benefit me to weld in more cross braces from the old frame to aid in rigidity, and what else can be done to the front to help tighten the front end together.

I have read all the threads I could find, but no one has gone further then basic installation as far as I have seen.

My new frame is a 68 F-250 vs my old F100.

The 61-64 series have a nice triangulated cross brace in front that I think would be a good addition to your CV swap deal. There would be plenty of room under the radiator . The CV cross member is also pretty stout and most add boxing plates where the bolts pass through the frame. Some of the aftermarket frame companies sell a seriously cross braced frame and I think you could use those as a guide for a do-it-yourself project. Keep us posted as this deal goes along. I may be doing a similar deal in the future. "Prost" IMHO.

I plan to post a build when the body is swapped around, and height set.
