Child car seats

Momma is not happy. Just found out she cannot haul around her newborn grandchild in a comfotable manner since rear facing car seat requires her to run the drivers seat ahead so far she is jammed into stearing wheel. has anyone else encountered this problem.

Yup, and couldn't wait until my daughter was big enough to sit front facing!

Best option is put the rear facing seat on the right side and not left side. That way the driver can sit comfortably, the driver can also reach back diagonally if needed and give the baby a pacifier or blanket or whatever (can't do that if it's directly behind you), and if you need to haul a passenger, the most comfortable place for them will be behind the driver sitting next to the car seat.

It sucks, but it's only for a year or so, and unless you're 4ft tall and need no leg room, that's the same boat you'll be in with almost any vehicle besides a minivan or full size truck. Even in my 3/4 ton crew cab it's not exactly spacious. Once they're front facing, the leg room issues go away completely.

Child car seats

Ralph, Sorry I was not specific enough, we will have 2 rear facing child seats to deal with by next month so both front seats will be kissing the dash so to speak.
Momma got me looking at a Yukon as the Expedition is in need of a major workover to be as nice as the F150's are. Already own a F350 crew cab dually that is a little cumbersome to park in spots and I use my 150 for work at oil sites

You can use the 3rd row seat, its not that much more reach. There are not LATCH connections on the driver side but that's not a deal breaker. The major down side is how much trunk space you loose.
